GA, April 24, 1833. He was the only son of James(Sr.)and Lucy(Thomas)Knowles. He married Lavonia C. Williamson, oldest daughter of Nathan C. and Agness(Thompson)Williamson in Butts Co. on November 5, 1859. Prior to his medical training, he taught school in Henry Co. at the O'Dell Academy-in Bersheba, in 1855 & 1856. In early 1857, he moved to Butts Co. where he was tutored by Dr. James H. Bryans at Worthville. He left a personal "Journal", now in the Georgia State Archives(microfilm-private papers)which covered the years 1852-1858. He is buried in the Williamson/ Knowles Cemetery in Butts Co. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
