GA Photo can be seen at: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/butts/photos/gph562agnessth.jpg Image file size: 39.0 Kb Agness(Thompson)Williamson is believed to be the daughter of George L. Thompson. She married Nathan Camp Williamson in Butts Co. GA on June 25, 1840. Nathan was granted a divorce from his first wife, Irena Summerlin, on September 19, 1839. Agness raised his children from that marriage, Thomas J. and Winney Ann Williamson. She and Nathan had at least five children. Three died very young and are buried in the Williamson/Knowles Cemetery beneath stone vaults, matching that of their father. Widow Agness paid a Mr. Nelson to "wall" four graves in 1855(Nathan Williamson's estate records). Oldest daughter, Lavonia Catherine married James B. Knowles, November 5, 1859. Mary Elizabeth married John J. Buffington, November 30, 1865. This daguerreotype was likely made after Nathan's death; though not as well preserved, it probably was made along with a similar one of daughter Lavonia. Notice that Agness had a glass eye!
