THE DUMMY

A rail line was built between Macon and Atlanta in 1882 with a stop at 
Flovilla, Ga.  In 1887, a connecting train called “the dummy” was carrying 
passengers from the depot at Flovilla to Indian Springs.  This convenient 
service contributed to the popularity and availability of Indian springs until 
1918.
