Knowles of Conyers GA stands at the far end of the Gray Family Cemetery in Butts Co. GA. At his feet are the walls of the fallen vault of Levi Newton Gray, son of Allen and Peletiah((O'Neal)Gray. Beyond the vault, to the right of the large pine tree(stone unseen)is the marked grave of Allen and "Pelly" Gray. The couple married in Butts Co. GA in November 1832. Allen bought this land from his father's estate in February 1833-and described the cemetery in his 1886 will(landlot #133/8D.-not noted). His father, James Gray Sr. purchased it when it was entirely in Henry Co. The lot was nearly bisected by the new Butts Co. line in 1825! Pelly was the daughter of Zachriah "O'Nail". Allen's parents were James(Sr.)and Elizabeth(Johnson)Gray, who are likely also buried here. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/gafiles/ File size: 1.4 Kb
