Wilson Date Of Photograph: July 1983 Photo can be seen at: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/butts/photos/tombstones/sardisbaptistchu/wilson206nph.jpg Image file size: 61.3 Kb Ransome A. Wilson-Tombstone, Sardis Baptist Church, Henry Co., Georgia Ransome A. Wilson was the son of William H. and Frances A.(unknown)Wilson. He had five brothers who also served the Confederate cause. Only he, and younger brother John James Wilson, are known to be buried at Sardis. In recent years, several other brothers have had commemorative markers placed by "The Sons of Confederate Veterans". From Lillian Henderson's-"Roster...."-we found; R.A. Wilson, wounded right hip, captured-April 6 1865, Sailor’s Creek, VA, and released July 1 1865. Uncle "Rance" married Mrs. Martha Lathram of Henry Co. on June 20, 1869. It is assumed that she is buried beside him in an unmarked grave. The couple had one known child, Bella V. Wilson. Though the stone omitted the "E", it is believed that he spelled his name with an "E".
