Jackson Argus – Week of July 16, 1897
Carmichael – Buchman

Mr. Robert J. Carmichael, one of Jackson’s best and most promising young 
businessmen, will be married on the 28th inst. to Miss Dora May Buchman, of 
Hampstead, Md.

The invitations announcing the marriage read as follows:

Mrs. Amanda Buchman
request your presence at the marriage
of her daughter
Dora May
to
Mr. Robert Joseph Carmichael,
Wednesday evening, July twenty-
eighth, at nine o’clock,
M. E. Church
Hampstead, Maryland,
1897

An enclosure also reads:

Reception from nine thirty
to
eleven thirty

Miss Buchman is also well known to our people, having made this her home for 
sometime past.  She won the lasting friendship and love of many of our people 
and they are delighted with the happy arrangement that will bring her to 
Jackson permanently.

Mr. Carmichael will leave next week for Maryland accompanied by his charming 
sister, Miss Annie and Mr. W. H. Higgins, of Atlanta.

The many friends of the fortunate bridegroom elect are tendering best wishes in 
advance and it is The Argus’ good fortune to join in thus offering best wishes.
