The ceremony was performed by Judge J. H. Ham. Back of the wedding is a pretty little romance. The plans of the young couple were unknown to the bride’s mother. In the morning Judge Ham was asked to officiate at the marriage and in the afternoon he left the city for that purpose. When he had gotten about two miles from Jackson he met the prospective bride and groom in the road and they were married sitting in a buggy. After the ceremony they drove to Flovilla where they took the train for Atlanta which will be their home in the future. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Lizzie Cole while the groom is the son of Mrs. N. E. Goodson. Both are well known throughout the country and are prominent in social circles and news of their marriage will be of general interest. The groom formerly worked here and now holds a responsible position in a railroad office in Atlanta.
