The report was current I that town yesterday that on the night of July 5th Miss Cullin Crawford, the beautiful and accomplished daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A. H. Crawford of Abbeville, was secretly married to Mr. Elvin McLean, who is operator at the Southern cotton yards in Macon. It is said that only three friends of the couple witnessed the ceremony which made them husband and wife, and that the affair having been found out, Mr. McLean will go to claim his bride at once, and receive the blessings of the parents now instead of waiting until September, as was his original intentior. Both these young people have a host of friends who will not only congratulate them, but wish them a long life of happiness. The above is from the Macon Telegraph of the 14th inst and is a pleasant surprise to the many friends of Elvin McLean in Jackson. He went from here to Macon and his father and mother are among our most respected citizens. The Argus offers best wishes.
