Darden – Foster

A swell marriage in colored circles was consummated at the residence of the 
bride’s parents on the 15th last., at 5.15 o’clock, p.m., when Mr. Luke Darden 
and Miss Lucile Foster were pronounced husband and wife by Reverend N. F. 
Haygood.

After serving refreshments and participating in a hearty handshake, the bride 
and groom left on the six o’clock train for Birmingham, Ala., their future 
home.  They carry with them the congratulations of the elite colored circles of 
Butts County.

The following are the names of those who gave presents:

Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Woodward, sugar bowl; Mr. and Mrs. Adam Woodward, pair of 
towels; Minnie Collins, pair of towels; Mamie Foster, pair towels; Maldora 
Berry, silver butter knife; Rosa Berry, silver sugar shell; M. L. Watson, 
silver fruit stand; Mr. and Mrs. Stilwell, set of glasses and silver dipper; 
Mary Scoville, a bureau set; Mr. and Mrs. Hicks, tidy and rug; Mr. and Mrs. Joe 
Banks, water set; Mrs. Thurman, card receiver; Mittie McMichael, set of china 
plates; Mary Benton, glass set; Mrs. Hall, dozen doilies; Mrs. Hardy, pair 
towels; Miss Phillips, pair of towels; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Stilwelll, linen table 
cloth; Susan Hunt, silver knives, forks and spoons; Mr. and Mrs. F. R. Rogers, 
silver water pitcher; Della Mills, table cloth; Mrs. Bledsoe, bottle cologne; 
Ida M. Epps, $2; Lillie Foster, wine set; Ida Edmonson, dozen doilies.
