Jackson Argus – Week of December 6, 1895
Thomas – Heard

On Thursday, 5th inst. Mr. William T. Thomas of this county was united in the
holy bonds of matrimony to Miss Effie Heard of Newton county.

Miss Heard is the only daughter of Mr. Augustus Heard one of Newton county’s
most valuable citizens.  She is well known as a young lady of most estimable
traits of character, gentle and gracious and greatly beloved by a host of
admiring friends.  

Mr. Thomas is a well known in this county as a young man of integrity and noble
principle.  He was for some time a pupil of Jackson Institute and while here won
many friends who are pleased to know that he has so worthily won such a charming
bride.

Congratulations and best wishes of The Argus and many friends attend this happy
young couple.
