May 25 A sensation was caused this morning when it leaked out that Dr. N. Peterson and Miss Edna McQueen had been secretly married last Sunday night about 10 o’clock by Rev. C. E. Crawley, the Methodist minister, the ceremony taking place at the Methodist church, Justice E. E. Youmans witnessing the ceremony. Miss McQueen is from Nashville, Tenn., and was employed as a teacher by Professor J. H. O’Quinn, the principal of the Tifton Institute, some time last year and has given satisfaction as a teacher and has made scores of friends. She is a beautiful cultured and attractive young lady. Dr. Peterson graduated from the Louisville Medical College several years ago, standing high in his class, and now enjoys a large practice. It was not the intention of the couple that their friends should know of their marriage until fall of the year, but in some mysterious way it leaked out.
