Middle Ga. Argus – Week of April 22, 1884
Washington – Grant

Married on Sunday Evening at the residence of the bride’s father near Flat 
Shoals of this county, Rev. J. T. Kimbell officiating, Mr. G. L. Washington to 
Miss N. J. Grant, all of this county.

We can say nothing more in their behalf than that Mr. Washington is one of our 
very best young men, possessing many rare qualities, being energetic, honest, 
upright, and by his perseverance has accumulated ample means to maintain a 
family, and Miss Grant is a sweet tempered, gentle and loveable lady,, 
possessing many good qualities, and having had the misfortune to loose a mother 
at an early age, has been thrown into the responsibility of raising several 
small sisters, which she has done in a most commendable manner, and is 
therefore well acquainted with domestic life and economy.  We think both have 
made a wise choice and wish them every pleasure that  goes into the make up of 
a happy and prosperous life.
