B. Guthrie, Dr. Wilson Smith, a prominent and very promising young physician of this place and Miss Hattie O’Rear, the charming daughter of Mr. John O’Rear were married in the presence of a small number of friends. The contracting parties are among the most popular young people in Jackson and their marriage was something of a surprise, being hurried, perhaps, by the fact that Dr. Smith had only recently decided to locate in Louisiana, and left immediately after his marriage for that state. His bride will not go to Louisiana until he has made permanent arrangements for her coming.
