Jackson Argus – Week of March 11, 1897
Holman – Smith

Mr. J. D. Holman and Miss Carrie Smith were united in marriage by Rev. J. A.
Drewry at 6:30 o’clock last evening.  The ceremony took place at the residence
of Judge Drewry, in the presence of a few friends.    The marriage will be quite
a surprise to the majority of the people of Griffin.

Mr. Holman and Miss Smith are well known to the community and will meet with
hearty congratulations from a host of friends.   Mr. Holman is one of our most
successful young merchants, and Miss Smith is a well known and most charming
lady of this city.
