Georgia, Butts County:

Last Will of David Maddox of said County.
Item 1st:   Intending this to be my last will.  I hereby revoke all will s 
heretofore made by me.
Item 2nd:  I wish my executors as soon as possible after my death to pay my 
debts.  
Item 3rd:  I give to my beloved wife Christiana Maddox the plantation whereon 
I now live containing two hundred acres more or less for and during her 
natural life with one cow and provisions for one year and such household and 
kitchen furniture as she may select the property herein willed to be in lieu 
of dower.  
Item 4th:  After the death of my said wife the land mentioned in Item 3rd of 
this my will to be equally divided share and share alike amongst my three 
daughters to wit:  Indiana Maddox, Adda Nolen and her bodily heirs and Emily 
V. Pope one share only to said Adda Nolen.
Item 5.  I give to my sons Charles Maddox, Francis M. Maddox and David A. 
Maddox my _______ (illegible) lot of land containing two hundred acres more or 
less share and share alike with all rights and appurtenance of thereto 
belonging.
Item 6th:  I give and to my granddaughter N.V. Maddox the daughter of my 
deceased son William N. Maddox the sum of twenty five dollars to my daughter 
Fannie Holloway twenty five dollars.  
Item 7th:  I do hereby appoint Charles Maddox and Francis M. Maddox executors 
to this my will having full confidence in them that they will carry my will 
out.  
In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand this 23 day of May 1896.

Signed and published by David Maddox as his last will and testament in our 
presence as witnesses thereto by his request this the 23 day of May 1896 we 
signing as witnesses in his presence.
