The church was originally situated on the N. G. Weaver place, about four miles North of Morgan on the road leading from Fort Gaines to Albany. In 1860 Shiloh Church was moved from where it was originally located near what is now known as Roberts Cross-Roads about one mile north of Cordrays Mill in Calhoun County and in 1866 it joined the Bethel Association, and was represented in the Association by its pastor, W. M. Pope and W. A. Collins as delegate. J. W. Pruet was the Clerk. The charter members of the church were Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Pruet, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Wise, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Collins and Mr. and Mrs. Brown. The original deacons were W. A. Collins and Jacob Wise. In 1867 the name of the church was changed from Shiloh to Elim and was moved about one and one half miles north of its location, to its present site and a new church was erected. The report of the church that year to the Association showed that it received five candidates for baptism and five by letter, dismissed six by letter and excluded one. There were forty-nine white members and nine colored, making a total of fifty eight. PASTORS The pastors serving the church as far as the records show were W. M. Pope who served up to 1867; R. A. J. Powell from 1867 to 1873; L. Culbreth from 1873 to 1875; M. Page from 1875 to 1866; J. S. Parker 1877; L. Culbreth from 1877 to 1880; J. N. Mathews from 1880 to 1884; H. L. Crumbley from 1884 to 1887; T. H. Stout 1888; E. A. Keese 1889; C. H. Knighton 1890; John Martin 1891; and in this year the present house of worship was erected; W. O. Crumbley from 1892 to 1893; (The Minutes of 1894, 1895 and 1896 are missing.) J. W. Sauls in 1897; W. D. Hammack 1898; (The Minutes of 1899 are missing); W. D. Hammack in 1900; J. W. Sauls 1901, 1902; John Martin 1907; J. P. Sauls 1917 to 1919; C. L. Claxton 1920; W. O. Young from 1921 to 1923; the church was probably without a pastor in 1924; as no report was made to the Association; J. C. Grimes, the present pastor from 1924 to 1932. This church sent out two preachers from its membership, J. P. Sauls, who was ordained by the church, and Jesse Rogers who joined this church when quite young later went to China doing missionary work. The present membership of the church is 107. The present deacons are S. S. Sauls, J. A. Johnson, W. W. Beard and J. M. Johnson. SUNDAY SCHOOL The first record of a Sunday School at Elim was in the year 1874 and Sunday Schools were had in the church intermittently until 1914. Since that time a regular Sunday School has been maintained in the church and interest has been manifested by the members and the community. B. Y. P. U. A B.Y.P.U. organized in the church several years ago but has not been regularly maintained. WOMAN'S MISSIONARY UNION A Woman's Missionary Union was also organized several years ago, but has not functioned regularly. The church has had no resident preacher for many years, the pastors of the church living at a distance from the church, which is perhaps the cause of the intermittent interest in B. Y. P. U. work and the Woman's Missionary Union. The W. M. U. has not functioned regularly. The church has a nice building at present, fairly well kept, which is ample. It owns a lot of about two acres on which is situated the church and cemetery.
