Wooten, James M. Justice, and Joseph Brownlee who being duly sworn, depose and say they are aquainted with James Alfred Brownlee and know he lost his arm in the military service during the late war; that said arm was amputated above the elbow; that he is a bona fide- citizen of this state and we are well satisfied that the facts stated by him in the above affidavit are true. Mitchell, ordinary of Calhoun county, do certify that I am well acquainted with James Alfred Brownlee, the applicant for a limb and am satisfied that the facts stated by him in the foregoing affidavit are true, and I am well acquainted with Daniel L. Wooten, James M. Justice, Joseph Brownlee the citizens who make their affidavit, that they are respectable citizens of this county, and the facts stated by them are true. James Alfred Brownlee Additional Comments: James Alfred Brownlee was in Blakely, Early Co, Georgia as an intern constable in 1888, after that I do not know what became of him or his wife. He was married to Georgia Ann Knight and they had Emma Brownlee, Joseph A. Brownlee, James F. Brownlee ( my great grandfather),Theodocia Brownlee, Laura Frances Brownlee and Claude Devaul Brownlee.
