WILLIAM SIMON MATHIS - 8/2/1982


The funeral service of William Simon Mathis Sr., 65, of 222 Fourth 
Ave., who died Tuesday, will be conducted at Oaklawn Chapel Funeral 
Home with Internment in Riverside Cemetery.
A native of Calhoun County, Mr. Mathis had lived in Albany most of his 
life. He was a retired meat inspector and security guard and was a 
Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, William S. "Billy" Mathis, Jr. and Lee 
Mathis both of Albany; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy M. Payne of 
Albany, Mrs. Brenda Rivera of Leesburg and Mrs. Mary Laverne Chancy of 
Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Reeve of Albany and Mrs. 
Mattie Mae Wheeler of Macclenny, FL.; 20 grandchildren and two great
grandchildren.
