Atkinson, at Satilla, Brantley County, Georgia to William Niblack (?), at Louisville, Jefferson County, Georgia, dated January 28, 1798. Atkinson reports that Indians have recently killed some livestock in the neighborhood. He discusses the frequent encroachments by the Indians going towards Colerain, Camden County, Georgia to trade and suspects that the situation will soon deteriorate. [January] 28th, 98 Dr [Dear] Sir, I have been thinking on the business of the Courthouse, I think it will be best not to fix on a place at the assembly if you should be successful, but confine it to some place not to exceed five miles from the Center, and until such place be ascertained & agreed on. Mr. Crawfords would be a proper place for the business.
