Alton L. "Jepp" Boone, 89, of Kingsland died Thursday
at St. Vincent's Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First
Baptist Church in Kingsland with the Rev. Vernon
Dillingham officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak
Grove Cemetery.

His grandsons will be pallbearers. Deacons of First
Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
Saturday at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in
Kingsland.

Surviving are his wife, Hilda Boone of Kingsland; a
son, Alton L. Boone Jr. of St. Marys; two daughters,
Donna Pickering and Sandra Dixon, both of St. Marys; a
brother, Eugene C. Boone of Jacksonville; a sister,
Ethel Outlaw of Kingsland; nine grandchildren; and 16
great-grandchildren.

Mr. Boone was a native of Raleigh, Fla., and had lived
in Camden County for most of his life. He was a member
the First Baptist Church and superintendent of the
Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He was also a member
of Masonic Lodge No. 476.

Mr. Boone retired from Gilman Paper Co. after 34 years
of service.
