Bowen was a native of Camden County. She had resided in Pierce County most of her life. She was a retired seamstress. Bowen was a member of Burnt Fort Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Charles Howell of Browntown; three daughters, Betty Chehab of Tampa, Fla., Barbara Howell of Corta Madera, Calif., and Marian Sikes of White Oak; seven grandchildren, Timmy Howell, John Howell, Judy Carter, Penny Youmans, Ali Chehab, Ibrahim Chehab and Elijah Snethlage; and one great-grandchild, Tommy Youmans. Allison Memorial Chapel of St. Marys was in charge of arrangements. Visitation was held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11 at Burnt Fort Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 12 at Burnt Fort Baptist, with Pastor Tommy Sikes and Pastor Marshall Dixon officiating. Burial followed at Burnt Fort Cemetery. Pallbearers included J.L. Dixon, R.L. Dixon, Harvey Dixon, William Dixon, Jerry Howard and Calvin Cox. http://www.tribune-georgian.com/
