Donald Eugene "Hobart" Briggs, 48, of Woodbine died Thursday at St. Vincent's
Medical Center.

Graveside services were to be held Monday in the Colesburg Cemetery in Camden
County.

Pallbearers were Wayne Jacobs, Steve Nipper, David Weis, Anthony Chandler, Kenny
Harrelson, Patrick McElroy, John Blair and Timmy Harper.

Surviving are his wife, Melinda Carter Briggs of Woodbine; a son, Edward Briggs
of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter, Donna Briggs of Woodbine; mother, Beverly Jones
Briggs Gannott of Jacksonville; two brothers, Robert Edward Briggs and Ronald
Edward Briggs, both of Jacksonville; a grandson; an aunt; several nieces and
nephews; and other relatives.

A native of Duval County, Fla., Mr. Briggs was a heavy equipment operator.

Chambless Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
