Sheffield a resident of Fernandina, died Monday Afternoon at her resident, following an illness of a few weeks. She was born in St. Marys, and was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Alex Scott, pioneer resident of this county. She is survived by her husband, J. W. Sheffield; and three daughters Mrs. John A. Farwell and Mrs. Marion Akins, of Jacksonville, and Miss Fannie Mae Sheffield Fernandina; six sons, Clarence V. Sheffield, Louis S., John W. , Jr., and Howard N. Sheffield all of Jacksonville; Hugh M. Sheffield of Fort Wayne, Ind., C. Hale Sheffield of Fernandina; two sisters, Mrs. A. L. Ford of Savannah, and Mrs. C. W. Smith, of Fort Myers, Fla.; one brother C. E. Scott, of Savannah, and Seventeen grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the residence in Fernandina. Rev. W. L. Huggins, pastor of the Methodist Church of Fernandina, assisted by the Rev. Mallinckrodt, of the Episcopal Church conducted the services. Pallbearers were; Sam H. Swearingen, F. H. Hobsin, Foster Daugherty, H. B. Burgess, A. S,. Allen, N. A. Hardy, sr., Harry Livingston, B. A. Partin. The internment was in Bosque Bello Cemetery, under the direction of Oxley Funeral home of Fernandina.
