Wooddall, Clk ******************** State of Georgia } Court of Ordinary Campbell County } November Term 1873 It appearing to the court that the application of the within named Francis Nixon for Exemption under Section 2013 of Irwins Code have been made and filed & modification having been made is filed against the same being juddsed (judged) upon. It is ordered by the court that the within schedule of personal property & the survey and plat of Homestead by the day approved and passed upon as the Homestead Exemption of Francis Nixon & his children under section 2013 of Irwins Code & the amendments to the same. Beavers, Ordinary ******************** Georgia } To the ordinary of Campbell County } said county The petition of Francis Nixon of said county respectfully showeth that he is the Head of a family consisting of his wife, Annie Nixon, and five minor children under sixteen years old, to wit: William M., Dock Zellers, Malinda, Clara, and Samuel Nixon, and that he desires (under the Section 2013 of Irwins Code & the amendments to the same) to have laid off and set apart to be exempt from levy & sale, as a homestead and exemption for the use of his said family and is out of lot of land numbers (38) in the 7th Dist of originally Coweta but now Campbell County. 1. Fifty acres of said lot of land and five additional acres for each of said five children, this land to include the dwelling house. 2. Mouse colored mare, mule 2 years old, 3. one cow & calf 4. Three shaots and fifty dollars worth of provisions and five dollars worth additional for each of said five minor children. 5. Beds, bedding & common bedsteads sufficient for the family 6. One spinning wheel 2 pair cards & one hundred lbs lit (lint) cotton. 7. Common tools of trade of my self & my wife 8. Ordinary cooking utensils & table crockery 9. Wearing apparel of himself & family 10. Family Bible, religious works & school books Your petitioner therefore asks that this usual order may issue as required to have said exemption & homestead set apart as the law directs. In person appeared before me Francis Nixon of said county of Campbell and being sworn says that the above foregoing land & personal property he desires to have set apart under Section 2013 of Irwins Code and amendments to the same. Francis & Harrison were the sons of Joseph Nixon & Martha (Patsey) Ward. The Original Homestead was passed on to Grandson, Samuel "Coot" Lynton Weaver- Nixon, and then to Great-great Granddaughter, Frances Jeanell Yates.
