Hoping these may find you in good health and doing well. I have to inform you of the death of your sister Minerva Hathcock. She was taken down with rupture on the 6th of this instant and died on the 7th. She was in great pain and the doctor could do nothing for her. The Campbell News will give you a better account of her death than I can write up. Fayett Hathcock has moved in with Mayce to keep house for him. Tho. N. kiddies clerking in Fayetteville. Times is tight in our parts. Wheat is small for the time. We are done planting. I have not much to write I am in no condition to write I am in my 85th year so you may not expect me to write much.
