PALMETTO News

A wedding of much interest to the people of Palmetto was that of Miss Sara 
Ellington and Mr. Ervin Herrington which took place in Birmingham on 
Thursday at the home of the bride's brother Mr. W. Ellington. Mr. and Mrs. 
Herrington are both from Meridian, Miss., but the bride has often visited 
Palmetto as the guest of her aunt, Mrs. Sallie Abrams and has many friends 
here.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Erwin Culbreath have issued invitations to the marriage 
of their daughter Annie Jean to Mr. Eli Brannon Cotton of Grantville, the 
wedding to occur on the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 17th at 6 o'clock at the 
First Methodist church.

Hon. M.P. Harvey, a prominent citizen of Fairburn, died suddenly Saturday 
afternoon. A feature of the funeral which took place Sunday afternoon, was 
the eloquent oration at the grave by Hon. C.S. Reid of Palmetto, a lifelong 
friend of the deceased.

Mrs. S.M. Dean has returned from Covington where she attended the annual 
State Conference of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Mrs. Walthall Morris spent several days last week in Atlanta with her sister 
Mrs. Frank Mason.

Miss Lucia Smith of Newnan is visiting her sister Mrs. J.R. Sims.

Mr. and Mrs. John Harris Reeves of Palmetto announce the engagement of their 
daughter Elma to Mr. Thomas G. King of Newnan, the marriage to take place 
early in December.
