BOYD DIES AT FAIRBURN HOME Fairburn, Ga., February 13 — (Special.) — George G. Boyd, 34, prominent groceryman here, died today following a week's illness of pneumonia. He is survived by his widow and three young children. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at Bethany Methodist church. He was a member of the Fairburn quartette, and was well known throughout this section of Georgia. Additional Comments: [This was George Gardner Boyd, son of James LaFayette Boyd and Mary L. (Molly) Harper, and the grandson of James Boyd and Amelia (Milly) Tidwell who married in Meriwether County, GA. in 1831 and moved to the Bethany area of Fayette County. James Boyd came with his father, John "Wagonner Jack" Boyd from Newberry, SC to Meriwether Co., GA about 1828 and lived in lot 265 in the Upper Ninth District, right on the Flint River separating Meriwether and Pike Counties. Wagonner Jack was the son of John "Buckles" Boyd and Margaret Wilson.
