Hymeneal
On Sunday afternoon the 2nd inst. at the residence of the bride's father, 
Mr. B. F. Speir, near Fairburn, Campbell county, Ga., Mr. W. J. Barton and 
Miss Mary E. Speir were united in the holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. W. T. 
Laine, of Atlanta; the attendants were Mr. Ben F. Perry and Miss A. E. Milam 
and Mr. S. M. Milam and Miss A. E. Payne.  The ceremony was performed in the 
presence of only a few of the most intimate friends and relations of the 
contracting parties.  The following day at noon the happy pair took their 
leave of Fairburn and a few hours afterwards reached Canton, their home for 
the present, where the affair was crowned with an elegant and fitting 
reception at the groom's father, Mr. W. M. Barton; the table fairly groaned 
under its weight of rich and sweet viands.  All with not an exception 
enjoyed the evening most pleasantly and wished fro the young bride and groom 
long life bedecked with great successes.  We too join in with the others and 
trust that their path along the rugged road of life may be one long, bright, 
continuous journey, with not more bitters than just enough to make the 
sweets the sweeter.  May the fair bride, who never looked more beautiful 
than when she was pronounced Mrs. Barton, find in her husbands strength a 
perfect support; in his wisdom, a perfect guide, and in his love, a perfect 
shelter. Thanking the bride and groom for an invitation to the marriage and 
reception, and their parents for the kindness shown the Editor, we again say 
"wish you well," much joy and long lives of usefulness.
