Cowart Cemetery #39 From Candler County Courthouse take Hwy 23 North, right on Ollifftown Road to Cowart Road on the left. The cemetery is located four or five hundred yards in a field, surrounded by a chain link fence. There are 23 gave sites, only four were marked at the time of the survey. Since that time, the cedar squares have been replaced with coping engraved with the name Cowart to replace the rotten stobs. Cleaning and erecting the fence was done by Elder Otis M. Cowart. The coping markers were provided by Laurine Witmer, Stephen Taylor and Magarette Cowart Patrick. The 10 inch square cedar stobs were engraved with wood burning by a family member. Due to time and weather the stobs were no longer legible. Fannie Allen Cowart b. Oct. 1857 d. Dec. 1887 Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord Miriam Cowart Hendricks Wife of Robert Hendricks B.
