The Cemetery is on the left just off of Cartee Lee Road on private property. You can also get on the Cartee Lee Road at Union Community but from this way, the cemetery will be on the right side of the road. Private Property still owned by the Cartee family. William Cartee b. Jan. 1, 1839 d. May 13, 1887 William Cartee was a son of Levi Cartee and Nancy Cartee. Pvt. Co. D, 61st Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A. Civil War. Levi Cartee b. March 7, 1816 d. Jan. 25, 1886 Levi's full name was George Levi Cartee. (husband of Nancy Kimbrell Cartee) Nancy Cartee b. (not stated) d. (not stated) anymore but an older transcription reads: b. March 6, 1820 d. Jan. 12, 1886. This was recorded before the broken stone was repaired. The repair covered up the dates. Nancy Cartee is a daughter of Rev. J.C. Kimbrell and Mary Kimbrell. Rev. J.C. Kimbrell b. aged 76 years (1788) d. Oct. 7, 1864 NOTE: Rev. John Caleb Kimbrell. Mary Kimbrell b. 1795 d. July 13, 1878 Family Information: But this family is also kin before the marriage of Levi Cartee and Nancy Kimbrell Cartee. Nancy's mother Mary Kimbrell wife of Rev. Kimbrell's maiden name was Mary "Polly" Cartee. She was the daughter of James M. Cartee of South Carolina. Levi Cartee was the son of Reubin Cartee and Juda Oliver. Reubin Cartee is also the son of James M. Cartee of South Carolina. So Levi Cartee's father and his wife, Nancy Kimbrell's mother were brother and sister making Levi and Nancy 1st Cousins.
