Lee Family Cemetery #47 Leaving Metter at Hwy 121 and 46, travel east on 46 for three city blocks, turn left on Martin Luther King Jr. St, which is S.R. #223. From Hwy 46, travel 3.3 miles exactly. Graves are on left side of highway, in a wooded area, 17 steps from the old fence row. The stones are all lying flat. The cemetery is abandoned. Earliest grave marking 1864. James Lee born July 17, 1806 died Oct. 14, 1864 An Honest Man The noblist work of God Lucinda Lanier Lee died July 6, 1887 Family history belonging to George W. and Henry Clay Lee, states that Lucinda Lanier Lee was born Mar. 25, 1811. She was the wife of James Lee. From the above family history the following information is also listed. George Walter was buried in this cemetery, no dates given. In Mrs. Sam Fine’s Cemetery Survey of 1967, the following are listed as buried in this cemetery. S. L. Lee, Homer B. Lee, and L. L. Lee. Recorded 1997 by Lorine Hendricks with help from Sara Ellen Lee.
