Fowler were married July 31st 1856 Thomas Jordan Chambers and Maggie Burns was married Feb 26 (or 28?) 1887. J.R. Copeland and Mary C. Cooper were united in Holy Matrimony Saturday the 4th day of May 1946 at the home of Rev. Terrell in Carrollton, GA. J.R. Copeland born Oct. 3rd, 1902 Mary C. June 12, 1962 Thomas Cal Howard b. June 11, 1968 Dotsy Howard (no dates) End of Bible record. James Alston Chambers was the son of George Alston Chambers and Jane D. Caldwell Chambers who were from Abbeville District, S.C. originally. George A. Chambers was the son of Thomas Chambers Jr. and Sarah Alston of Elbert Co, Ga. Thomas Chambers was born and raised in Virginia but moved to Elbert Co, GA ca. 1801. Thomas was the son of Thomas Chambers Sr. of Lunenberg Co, VA. and his wife Millicent Hurt. Thomas Chambers Sr. was the son of Edward Chambers who was a well known judge of Lunenberg Co, VA in the 1700's. The Bible record that was begun was not completed as several of the children were left out. The children of James A. Chambers and Martha A. Fowler Chambers are: Fanie E. Chambers b. April 4th 1858 (m. Walker) William Elbert Chambers b. June 2, 1860 (died young) Thomas Jordan Chambers b. May 7th 1864 (m. Maggie Burns) Benjamin Samuel Chambers b. May 20, 1870(m. Eugenia Wootson Huckeba) (See their Bible record also on this site) Eldorado Chambers b. March 2, 1874 (m. Allen Dawson Chappell on 25 Dec 1890) Jarusha Chambers (sometimes called Sallie Ruth ) b. May 3, 1877 (m. Harry Martin Lambert) The Copelands and Coopers as mentioned above in this Bible are the family of my grandmother's sister who kept the Bible in her family throughout her lifetime. My grandmother was Martha Maude Chappell Robinson, oldest daughter of Eldorado Chambers and Allen Dawson Chappell. Her sister who kept the Bible was Mary Louise Chappell who was the youngest daughter of Eldorado Chambers and Allen Dawson Chappell. Mary married first to Joe Cooper. Their children were Joseph and Rosemary. Later, Mary married J.R. Copeland on May 4, 1946. The Coopers and Howards listed are my Aunt Mary's descendants. Eldorado Chambers b. March 2, 1874 d. August 23, 1914 of typhoid fever. Her husband Allen Dawson Chappell was born 1870 and died August 1924. Eldorado is buried next to her parents James A. and Martha A. Chambers in the older part of the cemetery at Stripling Chapel Church in Carroll Co, GA. Her grave is marked with fieldstones. The children of Eldorado Chambers and Allen Dawson Chappell were: Martha Maude Chappell Robinson b. Nov 25, 1891, Byrd Morton Chappell b. 1893, James Carl Chappell b. 1898, Alma Pauline Chappell b.
