This is not my family--I just happened to notice some Carroll County people in this old Bible Record while I was researching my own family in the Neva Lomason Library. I thought I'd try to preserve this for somebody else. Somebody else will recognize these as their family names. John A. Martin was born April 3rd 1845 Mary J. Martin was born Sept. 1st 1847 John A. Martin, Jr. was born August 15th, 1867 Mary E. Martin was born Sept 30th 1868 Thomas F. Martin was born March 31st 1870 James R. Martin was born November 25, 1871 Susan E. May 1878 There is a notation here I can barely read but it looks like it means to say that the date on John A. Martin's cemetery marker is wrong and reads Sept 1868. Another one says cemetery marker for Thomas Francis reads 3-31-1869. This record also says father of John A. Martin is Augustus Martin and his mother is Mary Jane Moore. (I wonder if this is right? His mother had the same name as his wife?) Also, forgot to put in that John A. Martin and Mary J. Moore were married at Stripling Chapel Methodist Church 14 Sept 1866 by William Roberson, J.P. ======================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be freely used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
