The 1870 Carroll Co., Census was taken from June 1,
1870 thru August 1870.  Enumerators were George W.
Merrell and Grisham D. Merrell.  Transcribed by
Elizabeth Robertson.  A number of elderly citizens are
notated as "superanuated" and means "allow to retire
with a pension".
