"Election of First Deacons. 

The church was called to order for the purpose of electing Deacons.  Elected 
were D. W. BROWN & J. S. MORRIS and to choose a Pastor which resulted in 
calling of J. M. D. STALLINGS by regular vote was given until te next meeting 
to give the church an answer.  Bro. STALLINGS accepted and served thru Oct. 1, 
1878."  October 12, 1878.
