M. Richards Petition] Carroll County Court of Ordinary March Term 1876 Present - D. B. Juhan and J. T. Bedingfield Sheriff. The following business appearing upon the Docket was taken up and disposed of as follows Georgia Carroll County - To the Ordinary of said County. The petition of W. M. Richards respectfully Showeth that Angeline M. Richards resident of Said County departed this life on the 6th day of January leaving your petitioner as next of Kin and also leaving a considerable estate of Personal property - worth the some of one hundred dollars and at the time of her death the Said Angeline M. Richards was entirely intestate as you the petitioner believes and herein alleges wherefore he prays the usual citation may issue in order that he may obtain permanent letters of administration of on the estate of the said Angeline M. Richards & your petitioner will ever pray & c Jany 25 1876 W. M. Richards Jany 25 1876 The Above petition of W. M. Richards that he may obtain letters of administration having read & considered by me ordered that the usual citation issue D. B. Juhan Ordinary [Margin notation - Order applying W. M. Richards] Carroll Court of Ordinary March Term 1876 Citation having been duly issued and published requiring all and singular the next of Kin and creditors of Angeline M. Richards deced late of Said County to appear at said time and Show cause if any they could why permanent letters of administration Should not be granted. W. M. Richards of said County - and the parties so called making no valid objections in the previous. It is ordered by the Court that letters of administration issue to W. M. Richards as administrator of Angeline M. Richards upon giving bond and Security and taking the oath of office D. B. Juhan Ordinary Additional Comments: Angeline Mahala RICHARDS (b. 1805, TN.): Maiden name is believed to be HALE, according to a faimly letter. She was the widow of Francis Marion Richards. There were 13 children who lived to adulthood. William Milburn was the second child born and the first son, 07 Dec. 1826. Francis Marion, Angeline M. and ukn. others are believed to be buried on their home place in Carroll County near Villa Rica (Land Lot 69). A recent physical study of the area indicates there are as many as 20 graves, possibly more, located on a hillock near an old gold mine shaft.The plot has been designated as Richards Cemetery.
