Nixon who is the head of a family consisting of himself, his wife Mary E. Nixon and three minor children to wit: Martin L. Nixon age 10 years, Eva T. Nixon age 7 years and Emma J. Nixon age 4 years. Claimed to be exempt from levy and sale for the use and benefit of his said wife and family under section 2040 of the code of Georgia: 50 acres of land 4 head of hogs and fifty dollars worth of provisions to wit: 30 bushels of corn and 40 gallons of syrup and five dollars worth for each child. Fifty bushels of corn, one thousand pounds of fodder, one horse and wagon, one table and one set of chairs, sufficient for the use of the family and household and kitchen furniture not to exceed one hundred and fifty dollars in value. Bed and bedding and common bedsteads sufficient for family One loom, one spinning wheel and two pair of cards and one hundred pounds of lint cotton Common tools of trade of self or farming tools Equipments and arms of a malitia soldier and trooper's horse Ordinary cooking utensils and table crockery Wearing apparel of himself and family Family bible, religious works and school books Family portraits One family sewing machine Personally appeared, Joseph N. Nixon the applicant for exemption above set out who on oath says that the same is a true and correct schedule of his property which is claimed to be exempt to deponent and family under Section 2040 of the Code and amendments thereto which deponent prays may be recorded as provided by law.
