Ruffin of the county of Carroll of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the fum of One Hundred and seven Dollars ($107) by the said James H. Ruffin in hand paid unto the said Harvey Wheat, the receipt whereof is herby acknowledged hath granted, bargained and sold & do by these present grant bargain and sell unto James H. Ruffin his heirs, executors & Administrators, and assigns the undivided half of lot of land situated lying and being in the 2nd Dist Carroll County known and distinguished in plan of said Dist by the Lot No 144 To have and to hold the said bargained premises unto James H. Ruffin his heirs and assigns for his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances in any wise being and belong to the said bargained premises and the said Hiram Bowen will warrant and forever defend the right and title to the said against the claim of himself, his heirs, executors, administrators and assign and against the claim of all and every other person or persons whatsoever. Was he connected with Harvey Wheat ?? since they were both in Lincoln County?
