1852, December 14--- This Indenture made between James H. Ruffin unto Lewis 
Taylor.
For and in consideration of the sum of $355 dollars sell & convey ½ of lot No. 
144 containing 100 ¼ acres.
Also 50 acres in the NE corner of lot No. 113 in the 2nd district, said James 
H. Ruffin reserving the right of the land covered by  his present mill pond and 
maybe covered by water by raising the mill pond by 4 feet higher.
Registered   2nd day of December 1853

Note:
James H. Ruffin is believed to be  the eldest son of
R.V.C. and Elizabeth Harrell Ruffin born around 1828.

His father is the Administrator for his estate in Feb 1864 selling 50 acres of
