Bounty Land Claim
State of Alabama
County of Dekalb

SS.on this the (no date given)day of December A.D. One Thousand Eight Hundred
and Fifty personally appeared before me NOLIN GRIFFIN a Justice of the Peace in
and for the County and State aforesaid, ARON SMITH aged thirty four years and
resident of the County of St.Clair and the State of Alabama,who being duly
sworn according to law,declares that he is the identical ARON SMITH who was a
private soldier in the company commanded by CAPTAIN GILES S.BOGGESS of the 
Second Reg't of Carroll Co. Militia commamded by COL. TURK who commanded the
Regiment in the Cherokee War.That he was drafted at Newborn Cherokee County
State of Georgia on or about the 4 Day of April A.D.1838 for the term of three
months, and was honorably discharged at Newtown Cherokee County and State of
Georgia on or about the 4 day of July 1838 on account of being mustered of 
service as will appear by my original certificate of discharge herewith 
presented. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty
land to which he may be entitled under the act granting land to certain 
officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the 
United States papered Septenber 28th 1850.

Additional Comments:
Bounty Land Warrant No.53349 16 February 1856 for 110 acres was presented with
RHODA SMITH'S widow's pension application filed 6 September 1892 in Carroll
Co.,Ga. Witnesses were ALFRED SMITH & RANSOM SMITH.
