David Green, of Laurens County, South Carolina; was married by a Justice of the Peace, on June 11, 1781, in Laurens County, South Carolina; was a millwright after the Revolutionary War, and lived in this area until his death, June 27, 1831. Revolutionary War Widow's Pension "Pension 17.539, South Carolina, Flanders Thompson of Laurens District in the State of South Carolina who was a private in the regiment commanded by Colonel Heath of the Virginia [Continental] Line. Certificate of Pension, 17.539, issued the 19 of June 1820 and sent to the Pensioner, Laurens Court House, SC. Pensioner, Flanders Thompson, Sr., died January 27, 1831. Revolutionary War Widow's Pension, State of Georgia, to Elizabeth [Green] Thompson, under the Acts of March 3, 1843 & June 7, 1844: "Number 8827 [State of] Georgia Elizabeth Thompson [dec.?] widow of Flanders Thompson [Sr.] who was a Private in the Virginia line for two years -- Inscribed on the Roll at the rate of 80 Dollars 00 Cents per annum to commence on the 4th day of March, 1843. [next text is handwritten entry] & end 2nd Sept. 1844, when she died. -- Certificate of Pension issued the 29th day of May 1850 and sent to J. Given under my hand and Seal [^private/there being no seal] Seal of Office, this 29th day of April 1847. [Signed] J. S. Chastain, C. C. O. He removed to the Laurens County/Greenville/County/later Pendleton, SC areas in the later 1770s, was married to Elizabeth Green, daughter of Rev. David Green, of Laurens County, SC, on June 11, 1781. Mary Ann Thompson Singleton and Elizabeth Singleton were two (2) of the numerous children born of this marriage. Flanders Thompson died January 27, 1831; his widow, Elizabeth Green Thompson removed to the Lumpkin County, Georgia area where she resided until her death, in 1844. Additional Comments: Flanders Thompson, Jr. and his wife, Sarah A. Lindley, were residents of Carroll County, Georgia, prior to his death.
