Lipham, Haralson County, had the misfortune to get his house totally destroyed by fire. It is supposed the fire caught from the stove flue. The fire was not discovered until about 11 o’clock, and it got in such headway that it was impossible to extinguish the flame. Only a part of the furniture saved. Some five or six thousand dollars worth of notes and other papers were also destroyed. Mr. Lipham says he never thought of his papers until it was too late. This is a great loss to him, and he has the sympathies of us all."
