The Georgia Enterprise August 18, 1892
     There was a terrible landslide, one mile below Whitesburg, Carroll County, 
Ga., Tuesday morning in which three Negroes, Jerry COLLIN, Sam WIMBUSH and Sam 
WEEMS, lost their lives, and five other Negroes were badly hurt. The work train 
of the Central Railroad was loading rock, to be used for ballasting in a deep 
cut, eight Negroes were undermining the rock when the bank caved in, covering 
them all with the dirt and rocks.
