MARGARET SPENCE Mrs. Margaret Spence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Cantrell, and wife of Columbus W. Spence, died of pneumonia near Carrollton in Carroll County, Ga. on April 7, 1881 in her twenty-first year. The deceased was born in Carroll county on the 16th of December 1860 and joined the Baptist church at Aberleen, August 8, 1876 and took upon herself the Holy ordinance and Baptismal vow, under the official administration of Elder John M. Muse. Thus early, while opening up and blooming into the collective qualities of young womanhood, this mild, amiable, tender, humane, cheerful, timorous, modest one gave her loving heart to the Master and consecratated her sweet, innocent life to the church of christ. On July 3, 1878 she was united in the holy bonds of matimony with Mr. Columbus W. Spence, under the brightest and most auspicious circumstances. Religion was the chief grace and first excellence in all the relations of her consistent life, uniform in practice, constant in devotion, cheerful in affliction and consecrated in life. She was ever ready and waiting the Master's command, "well done thou good and faithful servant." Her protracted affliction was borne with that fortitude and patience becoming a disciple of the Lord. While we feel that the broken link can never be reunited in time; yet we trust her beautiful life, like a bright and shining light, will inspire and guide the loving husband and darling child, in the straight and narrow path which leaves to Heaven and to God.
