He lived in Franklin, Fulton and DeKalb counties until about the year 1830, at which time he moved to Randolph, now Cleburne, County Alabama. In 1841 he was married to Jane Emeline Barron, the daughter of John and Polly Barron. During the year 1849, he moved to Mississippi: but being dissatisfied he moved back the same year. About the year 1852 he moved to Carroll County, Ga. His wife died December 22, 1882. He was married again to Martha Sparks the daughter of Emmie Stovall December 22, 1883, with whom he lived happily up to the day of his death. He was confined to his bed six or eight weeks during which time he had preaching at his house twice by the Rev. O.O. Williams and F. C. Payne. He was asked by Mr. F.C. Payne if he had a hope in Christ, and he said he did. He also said about 20 years ago he went to the Primitive Church with the intention of joining the church but there being some trouble in the church at that time he failed to do so . In the same conversation he said that the Missionaries was the church of his choice. Beleiving them to be the church his request was to take him and baptize him. He was told that he could not stand it in his present condition, though he said if he died in the water; let him die. He died without being baptised but he left bright evidence with the family and his many friends that he is today in Paradise, so await the great day when Christ shall come to gather up those who have died in the faith to carry them home to the place that he has prepared for them. He leaves a wife and about nine children and many friends to lament his loss. May God comfort and bless his bereaved family. The subject of this notice, departed this life at his home in Carroll County, September 13, 1889, he died at the age of 71 years eight months and 17 days. By his request he was buried at County Line church by the side of his first wife and two oldest children who had preceded him. May we all be prepared by God's grace to meet him and all the redeemed of God in a brighter world, and high is the desire of the unworthy writer. J.J. P.
