WEDOWEE News
Sept. 14th

Mrs. Hitchcock, formerly Miss Emma Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Smith 
of Wedowee, died at her home in Atlanta last Wednesday morning, following an 
operation. The body was brought to Wedowee on Thursday. Funeral services were 
held at the Baptist church and interment took place in the Masonic cemetery. 
Mr. Jim Smith of Bowdon, Ga., Mr. Wyatt Smith of Jay, Florida and Mrs. J.N. 
Word of Milton, Florida were here Thursday to attend the funeral of their 
sister Mrs. Hitchcock.
