Evelyn Ophbelia Martin BATES, 53, of Southside Drive, Villa Rica, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001. She was born June 24, 1947, in Carroll County, the daughter of the late Grady Martin and the late Nora Webb Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Webb. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Jessica Hope Milkey and Nora Lynn and Tommy Bryant, all of Villa Rica; sons and daughter-in law-, Roger J. Howard of Villa Rica, Larry Eugene and Louise Howard of Bowdon; adopted mother, Myrtie Webb of Bowdon; sister and brother-in- law, Carolyn and Cecil Daniel of Bowdon; brothers and sister-in-law, Charles Webb, Jimmy and Anne Webb all of Bowdon; Wayne Martin of Heflin, Ala.; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be Saturday, June 3, at 2 p.m. at the Light House Church, Bremen with Rev. Sam Floyd and Rev. Frank Perkins officiating. Music will be by Rev. Frank Perkins and Rita Floyd. There will be private burial services. James Lee “Tubbs” Graham, 30, of Carrollton, died May 28, 2001. Mr. Graham was born May 12, 1971, in Carroll County, son of Frank and Rosa Lee Graham. He was a member of Mt. Avery Baptist church. Survivors include his parents, Frank and Rosa Lee Graham of Carrollton; daughters, Jessica Latoya and Hannoh Ciera Graham, both of Carrollton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry Johnson, Bill and John Graham and Leonard (Martha) Cochran, all of Carrollton, Deontray Graham of Newnan and Brooklyn (Johnnie) Smith of Whitesburg; sisters, Frankie, Linda and Laura Graham, all of Carrollton, Rachel Miller of Hawkinsville and Rosanna Higgins of Carrollton; grandmother, Laura Mae Johnson of Whitesburg, and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 2, at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Avery Baptist Church in Whitesburg Pastor Milledge Mitchell with Rev. Brooklyn Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Westside Memory Gardens in Carrollton. The family will receive friends at Walker Funeral chapel today from 7 to 8 p.m. Lois Bass ROBINSON, 88, of 302 Mandiville Ave., Carrollton, Died Thursday, May 31, 2001. Funeral Arrangements were incomplete and will be announced later by Martin and Hightower Heritage Chapel, Carrollton. Mrs. Lou Ellen Roark SEXTON, 69, of 552 N. White St., Carrollton, died Thursday, May 31, 2001. Mrs. Sexton was born Sept. 30, 1931, the daughter of the late Walter Lee Roark Sr. and Mildred White Roark. She spent most of her life in McKenzie, Tenn., attended Bethel College and was a church organist at the First United Methodist Church in McKenzie, Tenn. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, James Douglas Sexton; daughter, Susan Lee Sexton; son, Bruce Allen Sexton, all of Carrollton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter Lee and Betty Roark Jr. of Powder Springs, Hugh W. and Janis Roark of Elizabethtown, Ky. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Martha Stoker. Funeral services will be today, Friday, June 1, at 2 p.m. at Almon Funeral Home in Carrollton with DR. Jimmy Thurman officiating. After services in Carrollton her body will be carried to Brummett Funeral Home in McKenzie, Tenn., for services and burial.
