Buford Nixon

Buford Lee Nixon, 67, of Old Newnan Road, Whitesburg [Carroll Co., Ga.], died 
Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002.

Mr. Nixon was born June 26, 1935 in Haralson County to the late William Carl 
Nixon and Ethel Rigsby Nixon.  He was a retired employee of Banning Mill and 
was a U. S. Navy veteran.

His is survived by his wife, Dolly Nixon; children and their spouses, Vickie 
and Michael Jones of Bowdon, Karen Nixon, Marion Nixon, Chris Nixon, Joey 
Nixon, Buddy Nixon, Anthony Nixon, Steve Nixon, and Ralph Nixon, all of 
Whitesburg, Bonnie and Tim Noles of Bowdon; sister Mary Ann Williams of 
Ontario, Calif.; brothers Nix Nixon of Cartersville, Clifford Nixon of 
Winchester, Va., W. D. Nixon of Wyoming, Daniel Adams of Sierra Vista, Ariz., 
Jamie Adams of Atlanta; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 30, at 11 a.m. at Martin & Hightower 
Heritage Chapel in Carrollton with Rev. Jasper Merrill and Rev. Joe Winters 
officiating.  Music will be by Mrs. Louise Holmes.  Pallbearers will be Glen 
Nixon, Sam Jones, Michael Jones, Justin Jones, Tommy Jones, Robert Jones, 
Robert Patterson, Hank Wadsworth and Edward Wadsworth.  Burial will follow in 
the family cemetery on Ridge Road in Paulding County at 2:00 p.m.
