In Memory Mr. A.J. Durrett died at his home about four and one half miles north of Temple, Ga., August 30, 1927. He was born October 15, 1858, being a little less than sixty-nine years old at the time of his death. He had lived in this community for a number of years and was considered one of our best citizens and farmers. The deceased was a man of unimpeachable character, was quiet and unassuming in his conduct, and enjoyed the respect and confidence of all who knew him. He had been a member of the Methodist Church for thirty years. Rev. Mr. Palmer preached his funeral at Mount Carmel to a large crowd of sympathizing friends and relatives after which his body was carried to Temple cemetery for interment.
