Dr. Reuben Durrett To Be Laid to Rest Greenwood Sunday Funeral services for Dr. Reuben B. Durrett, 66, one-time city physician., who died Friday night after an extended illness, at the residence, 3 Peachtree Avenue, will be conducted at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon from the Buckhead Baptist Church. Dr. L. R. Christie and Dr. J. H. Fuller will officiate and interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Dr. Durrett is survived by one son, Captain M. B. Durrett of Sheridan, Ill., four daughters, Mrs. M. K. Word, Mrs. W. C. Mayville and Mrs. W. P. Briggs, all of Atlanta, and Mrs. Roy Jordan, of Rochelle, Ga., Three brothers, W. T. Durrett of Temple, Ga., J. F. Durrett of Waco, Ga., and W. Z. Durrett of Atlanta; one sister Mrs. Janie McPherson of Bremen. Additional Comments: Rubin Benjamin Durrett was born March 19, 1863 in Carroll County, Ga. He was the son of Benjamin Durrett and Jane Barron Durrett. He died May 25, 1930, in Atlanta, Ga. Dr. Durrett received his diploma from the Atlanta Medical College, Atlanta, Georgia, which was later a part of Emory University.
